For Funsies

Whee, it's Friday! Except my Friday hasn't exactly been stellar. :( Hopefully the evening portion goes better...
Moving on, I've been tagged by Mel Fowler, which means that you all get 10 random facts about me now. Then I spread my cooties to tag 5 other people, who you can learn 10 random things about later. So...here we go!

1. When pumping my gas, I cannot leave the pump until the dollar amount ends in a 5 or 0. My fiance purposely ends it on a different number just to screw with me.

2. My favorite color is green, except of the olive variety. Blech.

3. I have 30G of music on my computer, and it encompasses everything from Beethoven to Bob Marley (genre-wise, not alphabetically, because goodness that would be limiting).

4. I enjoy being alone, but with company (each person working independently, but in the same room). I blame my dad.

5. I'm probably one of the only women alive who wouldn't kill for chocolate. In fact, I think chocolate would probably kill me. The only time I'll eat it is when there's peanut butter involved.

6. I've recently become addicted to Project Runway. It's completely unexplainable, because I'm fashion-challenged and would never wear the outfits from the show, but I love it anyway.

7. I prefer swimming to any other form of exercise.

8. E.T. freaks me out. I haven't been able to sit through that movie since I was 7.

9. I enjoy watching nature documentaries. The Earth is a fascinating place, and the plants and animals that populate it never cease to amaze me.

10. This was a heck of a lot harder than I thought it would be.

Do you feel like you've known me for years? ;) I think I'm going to break the rules on this a little (gasp!), since a lot of my blogging friends are either a) uber-busy or b) have already done this before. So...I'm not tagging anyone! However, I would be incredibly happy if you decided to leave a random fact about yourself in the comments. :)

Happy Friday!

J

  1. I'm with you on number 9! Although my cat would say I don't respect animals, I do. Harassing the kitty is part of the fun of owning a cat. She just doesn't get it.
Nice getting to know you better!

  2. We have WAY too much in common. But since I was cleaning out my closet today, I will share one random fact: I have every card I've received in the past twenty years. Boxes of them. Can't throw them away.

  3. **waves** random fact about me: My two favorite characters from Buffy the Vampire Slayer are Giles and Oz (Willow's werewolf boyfriend).

  4. I feel like we have a lot in common! Awesome! This was fun :)

As far as #1 goes, we don't pump our own gas here in Oregon, so I never know what it stops on.

I'm exactly like you with #4. I don't like being alone, but I like when I can enjoy quiet time with others. I blame a family of 10 kids for that. There was always someone there!

And #5...have you read any interview's that I've posted with others? The chocolate question is always there and I'm pretty particular about which side I'm on. I agree with that chocolate with peanut butter is one of the only ways to go. I also like it with caramel and nuts...or something else. Alone, it's too much of the same thing.

And, yes. ET freaks me out too!

    Thanks for sharing.

  5. I'm terrified of E.T. I don't care if people think he's cute. When I was very little some neighbor girls tried to force me to sit through it while I screamed in horror. I used to have nightmares about him coming in to my room at night and poking at me with his icky glowing finger. Bleck!

And as for a random fact about me... hmm... My first real crush was Jeff Goldblum as Ian Malcom in Jurassic Park.

  6. Oh my gosh J, I hate E.T. and I love to swim more than anything. I also am a nerd and love to watch nature shows.... lol... Thank goodness you are my crit partner.

Thanks for playing along with the tag... I keep getting things...

  7. Tunnels show up in everything I write. EVERYTHING. I don't understand it myself...

I have an uncanny ability to predict the endings of movies...

And I am the empress of puns. :)

  8. I like everything to end with a 5 or a 0. It's just a thing :-)

Hmm...about me? I'm directionally challenged and could get lost walking in a straight line!

  9. Hey there J. Happy to meet you. From what I've read we have a lot in common. I love your blog title. ET was strange-looking, but I like aliens too much to let him scare me. Anyway, I've been off for a week but have just found you on the Campaign. I'm following you.

  10. Random fact: I'm a new follower and I love getting to know people. So insightful, yet? *grin* I'm with you on chocolate. My except is when caramels involved though... And I also LOVE to swim. I'm the crazy mom who's teaching her 3yo to dive...

  11. WHAT IS IT about Project Runway, and WHY do I love it so? Glad I'm not alone coming to terms with this. :)

Funny that you have to end things on a 5 or 0, because I can't stand to. I even set my alarm for times like 8:12 or 6:47, or, let's be honest, 11:04. I never pay attention to the dollar amount at the gas pump, unless I'm super close to hitting an even number. I'll try for it for funsies, but not really because I want it to end in a zero.

I'm an extreme introvert. If there are other people in the room, I still can't count it as alone time, and I'll have to move away and decompress eventually. Your abilities FASCINATE me.

And guess what my favorite form of exercise is? SWIMMING! Yay!

Now that you took the time to read my message, let's see what you have to say! Unless it's mean...then you can just keep it to yourself. :)
